I went in for a safety and emissions inspection. The technician had no clue what he/she was doing. They said I had no reverse lights because they didn’t know how to put the car into reverse in the first place, I proved to them that the reverse lights were indeed working and told them that their technicians entire evaluation is invalid if he can’t even get a car into reverse. They also said that my ball joint was out of spec and sent me a video of the technician tugging the hell out of the suspension, which I promptly sent to my grandfather who is a mechanic and said he saw nothing but the entire car moving. Overall, they wanted to charge me $1200 to fix things that weren’t broken. Completely unprofessional, but they were nice people and gave me a complete refund.
Hi Carl, We are sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with the results of the State Inspection performed by our technician. While I can’t explain what occurred with your reverse lights, I can assure you that our technicians are masters of their trade. We take State Inspection and Emissions very seriously, and follow State of Pennsylvania and manufacturer specifications for suspension. Vertical movement specs as per Nissan is 0. Your vehicle had no movement on one side and movement as seen in the video sent on the other, therefore it failed State Safety inspection as per the manufacturer specs. We were aware that you were unhappy with the outcome of the inspection and therefore were not charged for it. We wish you well in your future vehicle endeavors.
